Background

The Dark Knight (Batman) made his debut on the online cercuit way back in October 2009 when Crypto logic released their Batman themed slot game. He was joined by his most famous of nemisis, the Joker. This was one of Cryptologic’s first forrays into the super hero slots market after securing an amazing partnership with Marvel.

The fist eve Batman slot got rave reviews from around the online casino industry for its action packed theme and inovative use of slot symbols and bonus features to capture the Dark Knight’s mysterious persona.

Review

The Batman casino game is a must play for all super-hero and Batman fans. The iconography is good if not outstanding and offers a better than average experience for Chryptographic slots players

The Batman slot is a standard 5 reel, 50 payline slot with a “Decent into Madness” bonus feature that lifts the game above the standard 5 reel games. The lack of a progressive feature is a large detraction for me. If you are playing a slot game that is based on a character as powerful as Batman, you hope for a little more glits from the game than what Cryptologic have supplied.

The bonus feature from supplied for the Batman slot is one of the best around; it has a reel arcade syle feel. The “Descent into Madness” starts with you armed with a batarang(Batman’s weapon of choice) where you have to fight you way through the escaped inmates of the Arkham Asylum to stop the evil Joker. As you progress through this bonus you will earn cash prizes up to a total of 100 times your initial bet amount. There is also a free spins feature that can be triggered which is triggered when commissioner Gordon appears on Reel one and the Batsignal appears on Reel five.

I did enjoy the game and will most likely play it again but I believe it is a little old fashoioned and the lack of a pregressive feature is a detracting feature. The bonus feature however is one of the best I have played and does redeem the Batman slot in many ways. The cartoon style symbols are more characteristic with the televesion cartoon aimed at children than the “Dark Knight” we have come to cower in recent years but I would still recommend this slots game to any Batman fan.
